Rachel Murphy has expressed concern about what happened to his 5-pound dog Toto last weekend. Rachel claimed that the dog was bloodied and distressed after a groomer had taped Toto r’s lips shut.
Rachel recalled, "My dog clearly was in distress. What I originally thought was an actual muzzle, turned out to actually be tape. Toto r's paws were visibly red and injured, with the toenails cut too close to the paw, which likely provoked his biting reaction."
Wow! My Dog, an on-the-go pet salon, employed the groomer that was responsible for this.
Rachel took Toto immediately to the vet for immediate medical attention. Rachel has accused Wow! My Dog of animal cruelty, joining a long list of other people who have made similar accusations. San Mateo's Office has now launched an animal cruelty investigation into Wow! My Dog.
Rachel described what he saw. "I noticed injuries near the joints, in the neck area, and around the genital areas." The cuts were severe enough to cause bleeding."
Marianna De las Vegas posted on Yelp a review about how Wow! My Dog returned his animals to him in a bad condition or with injuries. A Snapchat video captured by a customer showed a dog with obvious pain. He claimed that the groomer had forcedly inserted a towel into its ear.
Bad Review
Wow! My Dog, in addition to the bad Yelp reviews and the fact that he was trusted to take care of their pets, wants his customers to know what the groomer said. Rachel said, "Juliann told me animal abuse crime that tapering the mouth shut was a normal, acceptable method. He claimed it is better than using a muzzle which, according to him, can be harmful for dogs. He also stated that he personally applies this method to his own dog."
Gate News called Wow! My Dog, and she answered but immediately handed the phone to a female who said they were investigating these allegations. When asked about Wow! My Dog, the woman quickly stated that it is a separate entity. Then she abruptly ended her call.
